Jim has spent the past 20 years developing and implementing revenue strategies for a diverse range of businesses. He most recently led Business Development efforts at 1% for the Planet, a global network of thousands of businesses and environmental organizations working together to support people and the planet. Before joining 1% for the Planet, Jim served as Chief Revenue Officer for VTDigger, a Vermont-based nonprofit news organization. At VTDigger, he was responsible for driving growth across various revenue streams, including membership, major gifts, grants, advertising, and events. He started his career in digital advertising sales with Gawker Media, and over the following fifteen years worked for some of the most well-known media brands on the web, including The Onion and A.V. Club, Slate, Serious Eats, and Eater.
Jim graduated from Kenyon College with a BA in Biochemistry and spent the early part of his career working in a cell culture and mouse genetics lab before transitioning to digital media. He is a musician, an avid skier, mountain biker, and runner, and enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two daughters.
